Mark your calendar: September 18 and 20 are big dates to watch! iOS7 will be ready for download on September 18, while the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will be available to consumers September 20.

CBS News reports reveal that Apple held a press event Tuesday, September 10 at Cupertino, California, at the tech giant's company headquarters. There, two phones were unveiled by Apple executives, the affordable iPhone 5C and their flagship product, iPhone 5S. Apple will start accepting pre-orders for the iPhone5s and iPhone5c on the 13th, will make iOS 7 available for download on the 18th, and will start selling the two new smartphones on the 20th.

A hotly anticipated release, iOS 7 is Apple's newly-revamped mobile operating system. iOS 7 will be available for download on Sept. 18. Customers who can't wait for the date may get the iOS 7 beta for only $8, but only as a registered developer, which requires an additional fee, as reported by Evasion Jailbreak News Blog.

Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook kicked off the press event by saying that the company has adopted a new strategy;   "In the past, when we've launched a new iPhone, we lowered the cost of the old iPhone, making it more accessible to new people. But this year, we're not going to do that," he said, according to CBS News. Instead, Apple fans get two smartphones - one selling at an affordable price, the other in the regular Apple rate.

The iPhone 5C will bear the price of $99, with 16GB; and $199 with 32 GB. Phone cases for the model, which come in a variety of hues, will cost $29. Senior vice president Phil Schiller introduced the iPhone 5C as a device made of plastic, with a 4-inch display that comes in a hard-coated polycarbonate design. The phone is steel reinforced, and features a multi-band antenna. Customers may pick among five colors: green, white, blue, pink, and yellow.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 5S comes in three colors: silver, gold and 'space gray.' It also features a 4-inch display, with impressive hardware of an A7 chip, and one model has 64-bits. iPhone 5S is 40 times faster than the original model, and will have three price tags: $199 for a 16-GB model,  $299 for a 32-GB model, and $399 for a  64-GB model, with contracts. With improved battery life and camera upgrade, the new iPhone is one gadget to covet. However, the most interesting feature of this smartphone is the new Touch ID feature, which is "a fingerprint sensor built into the home button. The sensor scans sub-epidermal skin layers and will have 360-degree readability. It is about 170 microns thin, with 500 ppi resolution. " This sensor works as an innovative security feature, as it safeguards the gadget. With Touch ID, iPhone 5S owners may unlock their smartphone and make purchases.
