Episode 3 of "Doctor Who" Season 8 will bring the Doctor and Clara to 12th century Nottingham.

They are in search of Robin Hood, and this time fans of the series are in for a comedic treat after viewing two dark storylines in Episodes 1 and 2. Episode 3 is entitled "Robot of Sherwood" and was written by Mark Gatiss.

According to Metro, the tongue-in-cheek episode will feature two guest stars that definitely had a good time during the filming. Tom Riley stars as the thigh-slapping, cocksure Robin Hood. The highlights of the episode include his verbal sparring with the Doctor. The bearded Sheriff of Nottingham, on the other hand, will be played by Ben Miller.

The original broadcast of "Robot of Sherwood" will be on BBC America on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The setting for Episode 3 is lighter than that of the first two episodes, if the synopsis describing the "sun dappled" forest is to be believed. In the forest, the Doctor learns of an evil plot from beyond the stars. In order to save the people of Nottingham he will have to strike up an alliance with Robin Hood. He must also decide on who is real and who is fake in this episode.

The script for Episode 3 was one of the five scripts that were leaked online from the Miami server of BBC Worldwide before the season's premiere. In August, a rough version of this episode in black and white, with no music or visual effects, was also leaked online.

With "Robot of Sherwood," BBC showed its respect for recent global events. The episode was supposed to have a beheading scene but BBC announced on Sept. 4 that the scene, which was to be included in the climactic battle, was removed due to the recent murders of Steven Sotloff and James Foley by ISIL.
