"Dolphin Tale 2" and "No Good Deed" are set to revive the slumping box office after two weekends of lackluster new releases.

"No Good Deed" is predicted to win the box office with $19 million. Opening in 2,175 theaters, the film has been getting a lot of attention, especially after Sony cancelled the press screenings to avoid giving away the twist ending. The home invasion thriller also has a chance of being a big hit especially since its stars Idris Elba and Taraji Henson have developed a following over the past for years.

The movie could open on par with similar films "The Call" and "Obsessed" which also starred Elba.

However, "Dolphin Tale 2" could give competition to "No Good Deed." Three years after the original installment became a hit with family audiences and made $72.3 million, this new installment is unlikely to replicate the results. Unlike the first film which opened with $19.2 million, this new installment is likely to open with $15 million to $17 million. The new movie does not benefit from the 3D experience and has also not obtained the same great reviews the original did.

This year has seen a number of sequels flop at the box office and perform lower than their predecessors. "Dolphin Tale 2" will likely join "Muppets Most Wanted," "Rio 2," "How to Train Your Dragon 2" and "Planes: Fire & Rescue" as underperforming sequels.

With no action movies in the marketplace, "Guardians of the Galaxy" will continue its success story and make another $7 million. That should bring its total to $304 million, making it the first film to pass the $300 million mark in 2014.

"Let's Be Cops" will also make another $4 million and bring its total to $72 million.

In art house cinemas, Fox Searchlight will release the critically-acclaimed crime drama "The Drop." Opening in 809 theaters the company opted to release the movie in wide release instead of limited release. The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and while it is not obtaining the Oscar buzz, pundits expected, audiences will likely be curious to see James Gandolfini's final performance. Marketing has been very low and, as a result, it is expected the drama will likely make $2 million by the end of its weekend.

Roadside attractions will open "The Skeleton Twins." Starring Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig, the film is opening in 15 theaters and scored rave reviews. The film is likely to obtain awards buzz throughout the next few months.

Meanwhile, the Weinstein Company will release "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby," starring Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy. The movie opens at four theaters and is likely to expand in the next weeks. The version being released is the combined version of the two-part experimental movie which premiered last year in Toronto. The studio is slated to release the individual installments in October but no official announcement has been made.

Arc Entertainment will release the final installment to "Atlas Shrugged" in 240 theaters. The last two installments have flopped at the box office even though the Ayn Rand novels have been popular. The first two installments have made a combined $8 million.

The latest installment has obtained terrible reviews and as a result, "Atlas Shrugged Part III: Who Is John Galt?" is likely to open with less than $1 million.

Sony Pictures Classics will expand "Love Is Strange" into 58 theaters and increase its count to 102. The critically acclaimed feature has already made $811,000 over its first three weekends and will likely pass the $1 million mark.

Meanwhile, IFC Films will continue to expand "The Trip to Italy." The movie will add another 71 theaters and bring its count to 155. Having already made $1.16 million, the comedy is likely to pass the original installment.
