Singer Ariana Grande has opened up to media about her rumored boyfriend Big Sean and how she was ready to jump into the music scene at age 14.

Although she got her big break from Nickelodean's Sam and Cat, Grande has been growing in popularity with her new identity as a singer -- a dream she had been chasing since she was 14, the New York Daily News reported.

"I was like, 'Where is that Mary J. Blige collab? Where is that Natasha Bedingfield writing session? Where is my session with India.Arie?" she told Marie Claire, according to NYDN.

By that age, she had already written her own lyrics, but when she showed it to her mother, she wasn't too happy with how sexual the lyrics were, Grande said.

And as she began to embark on her musical career, the goofy character she played on the Nickelodeon show seemed to follow her, but Grande told her label she wanted to redefine her public persona and was able to do that with her second song.

She also told Marie Claire about a car accident she got into on the way to Big Sean's house in California, seemingly confirming what are still rumors about the relationship with the rapper.

While driving up the winding hills in Los Angeles, Grande was involved in a head-on accident with another driver, and was almost scammed, she told the magazine, NYDN reported.

"She jumped out and was like, 'Sweetie, it's okay, it's totally fine. What do you do?' I was like, 'I'm a singer.' And she was like, 'Oh, I think I broke my leg.' And I was like, 'I mean, I make jewelry,'" Grande said.

And though rumors continue to fly about the relationship, fueled by each of the two celebrities posting on social media or acting like they are in a relationship, neither has confirmed it.

The duo has also worked on two singles: "Problems" and the new smash hit "Best Mistake" -- which hit No.1  on iTunes already, Us Magazine reported.
