Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is eyeing his third Champions League title win with three different clubs, and he believes that the Blues are capable of winning it all this season.

Mourinho, who is in the second season of his second tour of duty with Chelsea, won the Champions League in 2004 with Porto and in 2010 with Inter Milan.

The veteran manager admitted that he wants to win the Champions League again, but he also added that the team's short-term goal is to advance to the knockout stages and avoid a stint in the Europa League.

"Obviously I have the ambition to win it again," Mourinho said via ESPN FC. "But in this moment, I only think about not playing in the Europa League. I want my club to succeed in the group stage. It would be very bad for the evolution of the group and the players to go into the Europa League, and for the club's prestige."

The Blues showed major improvement last season as they finished third in the Barclays Premier League. Mourinho admitted that it's hard to improve from their third-place finish last season, but he reiterated that Chelsea is a better team this year with the acquisition of Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas.

"Obviously there are teams and managers who work 10 or 15 years with the same team, and step by step with conditions to improve all the time," Mourinho said. "But I think the second season is a good space for evolution, for improvement. It's not easy to improve on what we did last season in terms of the table or the Champions League, but I think we are a better team."

Chelsea, who have yet to lose in four Barclays Premier League games this season, will kick off their Champions League campaign against Schalke 04 on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge in England.

The Blues defeated Schalke 04 twice last season to advance to the Champions League semifinals. Aside from Schalke, Chelsea will also face NK Maribor and Sporting Lisbon in Group G of the tournament.
