With the recent circus-like announcement of Apple's iPhone 6, consumers and tech-enthusiasts have whetted appetites for Google's latest creation: the Nexus 6, or Nexus X. It even sometimes goes by the code name Nexus Shamu.

Whatever it is called, fans want it. And more subtle signs show that Google is readying themselves for the anticipated roll-out.

According to IBT, the tech giant is planning to delay the Android Silver projects, a potential replacement line of devices to the Nexus series. While Google has not officially said it will push back or table Android Silver, reports of executives clearing the way for a new Nexus device are surfacing.

The Nexus operating system, Android L or 5.0, which has been nicknamed Android Lion or Lemon Meringue Pie, will also be showcased for the first time in this product. 9to5Google said that the newest version of Google's Play Store is another update.

The changes are mostly visible. The new look, called Material Design, allows for a different feel to searching through apps to download. While seemingly superficial, the more straightforward look of Google Play will make a better competitor to Apple's iOS.

"Subtle changes you'll notice are the brighter colors in the app sections, which give things more of a pop," 9to5Google wrote. "These snazzy new hues extend all the way down to the updated category tabs, giving the Play Store more of a balance. Following a new color palette, Google's updated app depot will soon feature new Material Design animations."

Nexus 6 hardware design features are said to be shaped after the latest Moto X, the basis behind the Nexus X nickname.

With these detail slips and Google clearing its calendar of competing projects, the scene appears ready to unveil the Nexus 6. The release dates are rumored by sources to be in October or November 2014.
