Soulja Boy recently claimed that fellow rapper Drake got a line from him for the "Started from the Bottom" lyric.

"Just as a reminder to myself / I wear every single chain, even when I'm in the house cause we... / Started from the bottom, now we're here," the Toronto emcee raps in the hit track off his third studio album "Nothing Was the Same" that addresses his early life and career beginnings.

When asked if he always wears his jewelry during a recent interview with VladTV, the Atlanta, Georgia-native rapper insisted that he was the one who inspired that particular line from Drizzy. "I wear my jewelry all the time," he said. "What Drake said in that song? 'I wear all my chains on even when I'm in the house' - he got that sh*t from me. You know what I'm saying?"

The "Turn My Swag On" hitmaker then explained that he wears his chains as a symbol of his success and overcoming his struggles, just like the aforementioned lyric. "I'm in the house I got four, five chains on, but that just - I don't know. 'Cause I never had nothing. I come from the hood. I come from the ghetto. I come from the brokest hood in Atlanta, Georgia on the West Side," he said. "I never had sh*t, so when I made my first million dollars at 17, I said, 'N*gga, I'mma ball out. I want n*ggas to know that I made it.' So, this is a statement of me not having nothing and coming to being something. Making nothing to something."

In addition, Soulja Boy revealed working with Drake's mentor Lil Wayne on his highly anticipated upcoming album "Tha Carter V," adding that he maintains a close relationship with the Young Money boss. "I'm in Rich Gang. I'm one of the members of Rich Gang. I ride for Birdman, man. Salute Mack Maine. Y'all already know. Wayne is my brother," he said. "That's what it is. That's how I'm rocking... we got a lot of songs that we been working on. We've been working for the last couple of years."
