Apple fans everywhere are diving head first into stores to purchase the latest iPhone.

In Glendale, Wisconsin, customers started lining up at the Apple Store at Bayshore Town Center  at around 8 p.m. local time, Thursday evening. By Friday morning, lines were wrapped around the building.

Most of the people in line were likely those who did not pre-order the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.

The Apple Store employees and Bayshore Town Center security set up the metal railings Thursday evening in anticipation of the long lines. Thursday evening, approximately 10 people were in line holding coffee and playing on their iPads hoping to get the first spot in line Friday.

Elsewhere in the U.S., lines were also long, especially in big cities like New York and San Francisco.

Racked.com reported that the lines in New York were 300 people or more deep Thursday evening, and then Friday morning they were even worse. Apple was kind enough to supply water to those waiting in line, and bakery Magnolia supplied cupcakes.

On the other side of the world, an Australian man was one of the first persons in the world to have his hands on the iPhone 6. He was so excited that he dropped it.

This was all recorded on live TV for an Australian news segment. Jack Cooksey was so excited to show the reporter his new phone that he fumbled the box open and revealed it to her. It then fell to the concrete. He quickly picked it up and found no scratches or cracks. Lucky for him.
