Don Omar's ex-girlfriend, Rebeca Lopez, may have written a Facebook post where she said she didn't want to press charges against the singer, but it may not be because she had a change of heart.

According to People En Español, Lopez may have been paid $350,000 to dismiss the charges.

Police allegedly know that someone in the singer's camp approached Lopez in attempts to buy her silence, but she has denied that this is the truth.

"Once again, I ask my family to respect and take my state into consideration," she said. "No one is talking about money."

The 26-year-old dancer does not want to add to the story, and she thinks people should be more concerned with living their own lives. She said that remaining quiet on the topic is her best defense, because making decisions when upset only leads to lamentable circumstances.

The case is still set to go on. She is currently in Washington, D.C., but she will have to return to Puerto Rico to continue with the case.

"She has to be there on Sept. 29 because she was cited by the tribunal," said Jose Virella of Bayamon, where the incident happened. "The interest of the state is to continue with the case, and we have evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt."

When Lopez wrote the message where she said she wanted to drop the case, Don Omar responded by saying that he held no grudges.

In fact, the singer believed the two would one day be able to see each other and hug.

Don Omar was charged with two counts of threatening a person and on two counts of weapons violation. He was released on $600,000 bail.

He was arrested on Sept. 17, and reports said that it was not an isolated incident and that he had a possible history of domestic abuse.
