As tech blogs start comparing the iPhone 5s with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Sprint may have just given bloggers a reason to add the iPhone 5c to that mix.

According to CNET, Sprint is offering $100 discounts on any phone to anyone who makes the switch from a rival carrier to Sprint. "Switch to Sprint, keep your number and save on any phone -- only for a limited time, and only from Sprint," the ad says. This deal allows customers to get the iPhone 5c for free as an incentive for switching over.

Before a deal like this, it was easy to say that the iPhone 5s was the better phone across the board. It was designed to be better and it isn't made of plastic. However, a deal such as this one has the potential to attract customers from other carriers, and they'll still be getting an iPhone for free.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is slimmer than its predecessor and is much lighter. Like other Samsung Galaxy phones, the screen takes up almost the entire front side of the phone whereas the iPhone leaves plenty of room along the outside edge. The Note 3, like the iPhone 5c, is made out of plastic and doesn't have the same visual appeal as the iPhone 5s.

Preorders for the Samsung Note 3 will begin this week -- on Sept. 18. The iPhone 5c is already available to preorder, while the iPhone 5s will be available in stores and online starting Friday.
