"The Walking Dead" veterans Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus and Steven Yeun are teasing more fun from the characters everyone loves in Season 5.

According to Lincoln, fans "generally won't be disappointed" by the season premiere, which airs on Oct. 12. In addition to learning more about Terminus, Lincoln's Rick and Reedus' Daryl will continue to develop their relationship.

"Daryl looks at Rick as the brother that Merle wasn't," Reedus told TV Guide. "To have somebody he looks up to and has a mutual respect for -- someone he can trust -- is a big deal for Daryl."

"But the last time Rick called somebody a brother, it was Shane," Lincoln added. "That's not saying it's all going to be roses. It doesn't guarantee sh*t! But there is something incredibly strong between these two guys."

Meanwhile Yeun's Glenn will struggle with the harsh realities of the zombie apocalypse.

"Even though he does seek humanity, he does seek hopefulness, there is a semblance of understanding the world that he lives in, which is very brutal, and I think it's this struggle that he kind of wars with in his own mind which is, which way do you go? And I think he's still growing in that respect. But he's definitely probably the man he never dreamed he could be at this point," Yeun told Entertainment Weekly.

Season 5 will also be more "action-packed," according to Lincoln.

"There are a lot of different characters now and a lot of different personalities, so [the show] changes quite a bit," Reedus told TV Guide. "There are a lot of different flavors in the soup right now, which is great.

Although the characters have become fan favorites, the actors know that nobody is ever safe on "The Walking Dead."

"There are a couple of very cool characters from the comic book that I want to meet, and in the last few scripts, it feels like we've got a lot of story, so I think there's a ways to go yet," Lincoln said. "Whether or not we're in it is another question."

Season 5 of "The Walking Dead" begins on AMC on Oct. 12 at 9 p.m.
