In this week's Tap that App Tuesday we look at Reddit's AMA (Ask Me Anything) app, available for both iOS and Android. AMAs are Reddit's most popular feature, allowing Redditers to do just as it sounds -- ask somebody anything -- and the app is a great way to get in on the fun.

AMAs have grown into a cultural phenomenon. Previous AMA guests have included Madonna, Bill Nye, and even President Obama in one of the most popular AMAs ever. But AMAs aren't just relegated to the famous -- everyday citizens hop on as well. One memorable exchange featured a Pepsi truck driver in response to an AMA by a Coke truck driver. You can find all kinds of topics and experiences, all with access to the horse's mouth, so to speak, through AMAs.

Using the app is simple. As soon as you open it, you are greeted with plenty of threads to hop into. You don't need to sign up, and maneuvering within the app is easy thanks to its accessible layout. Once within a thread, users can vote it up or down and help organize the overall content layout of Reddit. Users can also switch between questions that have been asked and those that have been answered.

"We want to make it easier for new users to join Reddit and experience all the awesome content," Ellen Pao, senior VP of Reddit's mobile division told Variety in an exclusive interview. "That's part of the overall goal of becoming a more mature company."

You can also sift through the various AMAs at the top of the main screen and select from those that are Hot, Recent, and the best ones of All-Time. If you just want to browse through a particular subject's AMAs, you can do so at the top left, where Reddit lets you pick from 19 different categories, including Entertainment, Science, Travel, Business, and more.

The app also contains easy access to one's profile, and signing up is as easy as pie. An account can be set up in less than a minute, allowing the user to participate more fully in the Reddit community where input is a huge part of the experience.

Overall, Reddit has done a fantastic job with the AMA app. It's easy to use and vital Reddit functions have been kept intact. What's even better, however, is the fact that the Reddit AMA app is actually easier to use than hopping in on an AMA online through a browser. Reddit's AMA app gives the company, and experience, a much-needed facelift away from traditional HTML-reeking threads.
