The first jailbreak for iOS 8 is likely to be released in November, according to the International Business Times.

Since Apple Pay debuts next month, it is likely that an iOS update will be released to support the payment program and fix any bugs.

Currently two of the most relied-upon jailbreakers, Pangu and Evasi0n, are racing to release the first jailbreak of iOS 8.

Reports of a jailbreak on reddit earlier this month proved to be false, when the user posting tried to convince users that screenshots of the phones proved a reverse-engineered older Pangu jailbreak worked for iOS 8.

While Pangu has not said much more than that, they are working to get the jailbreak out to users. A blog offering updates on the evad3rs team is polling the crowd on whether or not to continue offering free jailbreaks.

The poll on the website has been running for a few weeks and is set to end in 64 days, which would likely be after the release of the jailbreak.

So far, more than 37,000 responses have been received and an overwhelming majority have voted for the tool to remain free, while some have voted for the $1, $5 and $10 options.

After the release of iOS 8.1, two more updates will follow in shifts, as has been the case in recent years, reports 9to5Mac.

The site was able to confirm that 8.2 and 8.3 versions are already in testing phases, due to a source that confirmed it and the site's own web traffic.

9to5mac claims that through Google Analytics, they are able to track visits to their website that show they are coming from 8.2 and 8.3 iOS versions.

The visits to the site from the two versions started in mid-September.

The reason for a major update in the fall and subsequent minor updates throughout the year is unknown.

Another major release anticipated from Apple is an upgraded Maps app, but due to many bugs and other issues, it was postponed. The original release date was supposed to be alongside iOS 8.
