Can you imagine anyone other than Robert Downey Jr. playing the part of the narcissistic Tony Stark? Although the day might come that we see a different actor in the Iron man suit, Robert Downey Jr. confirms that day isn't anytime soon.

RDJ will be returning to the big screen as his famous character of Iron Man in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" in 2016. This will mark the third film for Marvel's team of superheroes that has taken the world by storm. Mr. Downey Jr. doesn't say much about the future of sole Iron Man movies, but he did hint that he is nowhere near done with his role as Tony Stark.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, RDJ sat beside his wife producer Susan Downey to chat about their current projects.

"I'm sure we'll ride that thing. You've got to surf that all the way in to shore," Tony Stark says about his Iron Man character.

"I think I was at the forefront of something that was coming into being, and I think it has carried me as much as I have informed it. That's the healthy way to look at it. It's so easy to become inflated by the successes, but what they really are are long, strong trends. It's just another wave."

2008's "Iron Man" is rumored to have been the start of the superhero trend we have today. From the Avengers to Captain America, Hulk and Thor films to a variety of Marvel clothing and merchandise, the world lives in a superhero frenzy. Downey, better known as Stark, humbly appreciates his title but pinches himself into the reality that everything will one day come to an end. Or maybe not....

Robert Downey Jr. and wife Susan Downey will be on the cover of the Oct. 10 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. Be sure to check them out along with the video below.
