Just weeks after the announcement of the iPhone 6 and its bigger version of the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple could be holding yet another event on Oct. 16 to announce new iPads and Macs.

According to reports on Yahoo!, sources have also mentioned that the company would be talking more about the latest iteration of Apple's operating system named OS X Yosemite in the upcoming presentation.

Instead of having a big event to make the announcement like the company did for the new smartphone lineup, the affair is said to be more laid-back and would most likely be held in Apple's Town Hall Auditorium at its Cupertino, California headquarters.

If reports are in fact true, the October event would be just a month after the unveiling of Apple's latest iPhones and its first wearable gadget called the Apple Watch. It also follows the trend of announcing the new iPad Mini and iPad Air, which were announced in a similar event on Oct. 22 of last year.

Aside from the newly expected iPad Air, Apple may also be giving a preview of a 12.9-inch iPad that may come around mid-2015. While the launch of the iPhone 6 was anticipated due to invitations that had been sent to members of the press, no such invitations have been given out for the October event.

While no drastic changes are expected to be made on the design of Apple's iPad, speculations suggest that the company could be incorporating the Touch ID fingerprint sensor that was introduced with the iPhone 5S, as well as upgrading the device's processer to a new A8 chip. The new iPad may also come in gold in addition to the currently available colors, black and white, reflecting a color theme similar to that of the iPhone.
