Actress Raven-Symone wore her hair to the side in a short haircut with an ombre purple, green and gray color as she officially came out of the closet to Oprah Winfrey Sunday night. Symone kept the world suspicious over her relationship with model Azmarie Livingston until the sit down with the legendary talk show queen.

The reason why "The Cosby Show" alumni never cared to make her sexuality public was because she claims she doesn't put labels on herself. "On the other side my mother and people in my family have taught me to keep my personal life to myself," said Symone.

The conversation came about when Oprah asked Raven about a tweet posted on her Twitter account on Aug. 2 after a Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage last year reading, "I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you." Winfrey candidly asked, "Was this your way of coming out...of saying you were gay?"

"I will say that I am in an amazing happy relationship with my partner, a woman..." Raven answered. "I don't want to be labeled gay, I want to be a human who loves humans."

The "That's so Raven" star continued to say, "I'm tired of being labeled, I'm an American. I'm not an African-American; I'm an American." That statement took Oprah back as it can sound offensive to African Americans but she quickly explained with a big laugh saying, "what I mean...I'm sorry..."

"I mean, I don't know where my roots go to, I don't know what part of Africa I am from, but I do know my roots go back to Louisiana, I'm an American."

This is Raven's first time actually speaking about her sexuality and her partner Azmarie, whom they flashed a photo of during the televised interview.

Do you think Raven was afraid to publically come out? Why do you think she waited this long? Why now?
