Nickelodeon hosted its "Legend of Korra" panel on at New York Comic-Con 2014, whose guests included co-creator and executive producer Bryan Konietzko, co-executive producer Joaquim dos Santos, Janet Varney (Korra), PJ Byrne (Bolin) and Steve Yeun (Wan), from "The Walking Dead."

Entertainment Weekly reports that attendance took place in the form of a packed crowd, as co-creator of the popular series Bryan Konietzko gave audiences a sneak peek at the first half of the upcoming one-hour episode. The first episode is called "Beginnings Part 1" and will air on Oct. 18. The NYCC event also featured a lot of concept art from past and present.

The episode starts off where the last episode left off, when Season 3 wrapped up its finale months ago. Fire Sages rescue and heal an injured Korra, whose spiritual self settles on Wan, the first avatar. Wan promises to help Korra find the mysterious Rava, and the rest of the episode shows a flashback to Wan's journey.

"Beginnings" improves on the animation of "Avatar" and "Korra," borrowing elements from "Spirited Away" and "Avatar: The Last Airbender" while adapting them to the new darker series.

Steve Yeun from "The Walking Dead" joins the series as Wan, after Konietzko says the actor blew him away with his performance. "He just knocked it out of the park. I love it. I want to do the live-action movie with him starring Wan. He didn't just do it like 'Oh yeah, sure.' He embodied it so well," Konietzko said.

This is a major moment for fans as the panel is the last at a convention for the four-season show. The actors shared their thoughts and memories for the fans and thanked the show's creators. It seemed like just yesterday when the creators had explained their decision to move the show completely online at the San Diego Comic-Con. Everyone involved in the show agreed it would last the test of time and that fans would be rewarded with one last treat before the show ends
