It really is a frustrating time for fans of 'Sherlock,' since the premiere date has not yet been finalized. The only date given is that it will be back on television in 2016, which follows the traditional pattern of its release.

Fashion & Style reported that in Season 4, Dr. Watson's wife, Mary Morstan, will die. Reportedly, this will lead to an episode or number of episodes where Watson will be shown grieving. However, insiders think that this will not be the case because she is a great addition to the team and also a dynamic character.

According to Moffat, many things that viewers do not expect to happen will be happening in Season 4. The season is supposed to be a darker one and plans for the season are all top-secret. Moffat also said that the newest season will be devastating and hinted that death is likely to happen to a major character in the series.

So far, it has not been revealed if Moriarty is indeed dead or if he is still alive. Some are already speculating that this could just be a ploy to keep Sherlock in London for the meantime. However, Moffat did say that Moriarty cannot be alive because he shot himself in the face. There is some mystery because Benedict Cumberbatch revealed that he knows what will happen but would not tell in his interview at Comic-Con 2014, Latin Times reports.

It is also speculated that Janine will be making a comeback because Sherlock liked her and since she could be his date when needed. Maybe with Janine around, Ms. Adler will also make an appearance. Another character that might surprise viewers is a third Holmes brother. Stay tuned!
