Gabriela Isler, the 2013 winner of Miss Universe, is getting ready to relinquish her crown for the next Miss Universe.

But before that happens, the Venezuelan beauty talked about what her reign has been like, notes El País.

"At the beginning of my reign this year, I said that I was going to visit, to learn and to enjoy," she said. "But this vision had to be changed for one of knowledge, personal growth, independence as a woman, leaving my home, opening my wings and receiving blessings because this year I've had things in my life that I never would have imagined."

Isler was also very afraid of living her life in the public eye.

She explained that a lot of women who compete have dreamt of being Miss Universe since they were children, but that's not how it happened for her. She was a model and someone who was dedicated to her studies.

Isler didn't think she would be ready to listen to criticism.

She said that she hasn't had the opportunity to use her degree for a career, but it has come handy with learning how to market herself. Because of this, she said, she is able to take charge of her own brand.

Though she doesn't see herself working as an executive for Donald Trump's businesses at the moment, she said that Trump has given her much advice.

"Every time he speaks, it's inspirational," she said. "He is a person that dreams big, and his advice is not to limit yourself and to keep looking for better things because dreams can come true. And for your dreams, you have to work hard."

Her favorite part of her reign has been visiting new countries, where she doesn't speak the language and she doesn't know anyone, because people smile at her. But there are things she'd also love to make a difference in. For example, in her native country, there are many young girls who get pregnant as teenagers. She wants to motivate them to go after their dreams.

Isler also said she hasn't tired of all her social engagements, and she wishes she could continue to reign.
