Zayn Malik has lately been surrounded by speculation that he might leave One Direction to pursue his solo career.

Speaking at the Radio 1 Teen Choice Awards over the weekend, fellow U.K. singer Labrinth revealed that he was teaming up with Malik on a new record. "I'm going to do something with Zayn," he told The Mirror. "We're going to make a soulful record. 100 percent."

He then praised the "Best Song Ever" crooner's voice. "He's got a soulful voice," he said. "We're good, we're cool."

Labrinth's statement about his upcoming collaboration with the 1D member immediately sparked rumors that Malik might be going solo, as Daily Star reported: "Fans are fearing Zayn -- who is engaged to Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards -- could be about to leave the band after it emerged he's going to work on new material with Labrinth as a separate side project."

However, Zayn Malik's rep then confirmed to Gossip Cop that the recent claims are "not true." Although the spokesperson did not address the Labrinth project, he insisted: "Fact is, he's not going solo."

Meanwhile, One Direction is currently getting ready to release their fourth studio album, appropriately titled "Four," in three years. Also, Daily Mail reported that the upcoming LP will be their most personal and honest album to date.

"Hey guys! We're so excited to announce our fourth album, Four!" the "Midnight Memories" hitmakers wrote on their website last month. "We've worked incredibly hard writing and recording it whilst we've been on the road and we couldn't have done it without your support."

One Direction's highly anticipated forthcoming album "Four," which will feature their latest singles "Steal My Girl" and "Fireproof," is set for a release on Nov. 17.
