The San Francisco Giants rocked the Kansas City Royals in Game 1 of the 2014 World Series, and now the Royals attempt to break even in Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday.

The Giants won the first game of the 2014 World Series, 7-1. It was hardly the dramatic game baseball game fans had hoped for as the Royals pitching staff and offense disappointed in their first World Series game since 1985.

Latin Post previews the game, teams and predicts the winner of Game 2 of the Fall Classic:

San Francisco Giants

The Giants opened the World Series with a dominating 7-1 victory. Having won two of the last four World Series, this Giants team is on a mission to become a dynasty. With their latest win, the Giants improved their postseason record to 9-2.

Incredibly, this Giants team under manager Bruce Bochy are now 9-1 in World Series games.

In Game 1, the Giants struck early by scoring three runs in the first inning. Venezuelan slugger Pablo Sandoval hit a double in the first inning, and the Giants never looked back. Sandoval has proven to be one of the best clutch hitters in all of baseball, having already won a World Series MVP.

To no one's surprise, starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner was terrific in Game 1. Bumgarner pitched seven innings, allowing just one run and three hits. Hunter Pence continued his great postseason with a home run, two runs, two hits and two walks in the opening game.

Jake Peavy will start Game 2 for the Giants. Peavy won the World Series last season with the Boston Red Sox and a Cy Young Award in 2007 with the San Diego Padres.

Kansas City Royals

Well, it appears as if the Royals are human, after all. Before their loss to the Giants, the Royals were a perfect 8-0 this postseason. This team is drawing comparisons to the 2007 Colorado Rockies, who started off 7-0 in the postseason, but got swept in the World Series. Royals fans are hoping that won't be the case.

Pitcher James Shields had a very disappointing performance in Game 1. Shields lasted just three innings and allowed five runs and seven hits. It's tough enough going against Bumgarner, but even tougher to win when your best pitcher is struggling.

The entire Royals offense was only able to put up four hits and one run all game. Salvador Perez hit a solo home run in the seventh inning for the Royals only run.

Dominican-born pitcher Yordano Ventura will be pitching Game 2. Ventura has only pitched 25 games in his young career, but this will be by far his biggest one yet. The Royals will have home field advantage in Game 2, but Games 3 through 5 will be in San Francisco, California.

Schedule, Where to Watch

Game 2 of the World Series is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 8:07 p.m. EST in Kauffman Stadium Kansas City, Missouri. The game will be shown on FOX. You can view a live game stream here.
