After a few years of taking a break from acting, Elizabeth Gutierrez is returning with a new role.

The show, which fittingly opens on Oct. 31 in Miami, is called "Brujas" or witches. Gutierrez is starring alongside Angelica Castro, Karla Monroig and Beatriz Valdez, notes People En Espanol.

"It's a play about five friends who reunited after 25 years, and at that dinner many things happens," she said. "Many truths they tried to hide come out. You're going to enjoy it very much."

She also opened up about balancing life and work.

When asked if she thought that one parent has to sacrifice their goals for their children, Gutierrez explained that she thinks it is better to find balance, but that her children definitely come first. And she considers herself lucky for being able to stay home with her children.

"I definitely felt it was very important because they are little," she said. "That age is the most important, so I wanted to be with them and let them know that their mom will be there whether she works or not. But she's always be present, and I wanted to plan that in their heads."

She also talked about how she likes to spend her time with her children. With her daughter, Kaley, she likes to dress her up and play with makeup. With her son, Christopher, she enjoys seeing him play games.

She doesn't know if her children will want to follow in her and dad William Levy's footsteps. Either way, she will support them, she said.

Gutierrez explained that she was being very caring with her children on the red carpet for "The Book of Life" because they were shy. Unlike their famous parents, Kaley and Christopher are not very exposed to the red carpet.

"It was the first time they went on the red carpet with me. For Christopher, it was the second time, but with me the first time," she said, of her son, who once attended Premio Lo Nuestro with his father. "So I want to let them know that I'll be there to protect and support them."
