Kendrick Lamar's latest single "i" off his yet-to-be-titled third studio album has been chosen by the National Basketball Association to serve as the anthem for the upcoming 2014-2015 Season.

The Compton emcee's funky track, which samples the 1973 Isley Brother's soul record "That Lady," will be featured in promotional videos for the NBA season.

In addition to the basketball highlights from the NBA stars, including Carmelo Anthony, James Harden, LeBron James and Dirk Nowitzki among others, K. Dot appears in one of the newest promotional footages, rocking a baseball cap and rapping the lyrics.

Also, Lamar is set to perform his inspirational song, which is all about self-love and self-expression, at the NBA/TNT concert on Oct. 30.

Meanwhile, it seems like "i" is recognized in the film industry as well, as it will be featured in the trailer for upcoming comedy film "Top Five," which stars Kevin Hart, Chris Rock, Rosario Dawson, Cedric the Entertainer and more.

The TDE rapper previously explained what inspired him to make the popular track. "When I first started doing music, I did a lot for myself, just for my enjoyment, but then I started doing these shows and I start seeing these kids saying my song saved their lives [because] they were going to commit suicide," he told 97.1 AMP's Carson Daly. "It got a little bit deeper than me, you know?"

"It got a little bit deeper than just going with a simple contemporary hit record cliché sound and I said I'm going to use my pedestal and speak about something much more and do it my way because I'd rather go out like that," he added.
