"Chopped Canada" host Dean McDermott recently opened up about his tumultuous relationship with Tori Spelling during an interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada, Us Weekly reported.

During his ET Canada interview, McDermott defended his cheating on Spelling by saying, "I'm not the first person to ever cheat on his wife."

Us Weekly claimed it was the first media outlet to break the news of McDermott's infidelity in his marriage to Tori Spelling last year in December. At that time, Us Weekly revealed that the 47-year-old actor had cheated on Spelling with a woman named Emily Goodman.

Since the news of his cheating broke out, Spelling and McDermott have faced immense trouble in their relationship but continue to work on making their marriage last.

Spelling and McDermott's road to recovery in their marriage is currently documented on the newest season of "True Tori" on Lifetime.

Despite the couple's efforts to mend their broken marriage, McDermott claims that tabloids still label him as a "monster" -- a label he admitted to being offended by.

"When you're at the checkout and you look over and you see one of these magazines and it's like, 'Dean McDermott's a monster,' I'm like, 'No, I'm not a monster, I'm a human being and I messed up,'" the father of five said. "I messed up and I'm owning up to it and I'm getting help. But to label me a monster or evil is very hurtful."

As McDermott continues to ward off the tabloid "monster" labels, Spelling continues to suffer in the hospital from her various illnesses that include "bronchitis, sinusitis and pneumonia," said her husband.

TMZ reported that Spelling is allegedly going through a "nervous breakdown" in the hospital due to stress from her failing marriage and her struggles with financial stability.

On Thursday, Spelling seemingly supported TMZ's claims by posting a photo of herself in the hospital along with a cryptic message in which she writes, "1 person will never be there 4 me."

Sources such as E! News claim that the "1 person" that Spelling refers to might be Dean McDermott.
