Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald said "I do" at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Arkansas, on Saturday reports People magazine.

The wedding happened just two and a half months after the pair became engaged on Aug. 15 and one year after Seewald, 19, began courting Duggar,21, last September.

More than 1,000 guests attended the wedding and were surprised when Duggar (now Mrs. Seewald) and her new husband did not kiss once pronounced "man and wife."

"They wanted their very first kiss ever to be in private," Pastor Mike Schadt told People magazine. "It was important to the both of them."

After spending time alone following the wedding ceremony, the new bride and groom posed for pictures and later exchanged several kisses at their reception.

Wedding Details

While Duggar and Seewald's courtship was very "traditional," according to People. the wedding festivities were missing some common, traditional elements. Here are four fun facts reported about the happy couple's wedding:

1. Although Duggar is a virgin bride, there was no white wedding dress. Duggar chose a blush gown from Tesori Bridal in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Allure dress was from their modest line and had a fully beaded bodice of Swarovski crystals and pearls. Some of the dress' tulle had been removed so it would fall exactly how the bride-to-be preferred.

2. The couple wrote and recited their own wedding vows.

3. The reception did not include a wedding cake. Guests created delicious sundaes using ice cream, brownies and a variety of toppings including caramel, candy, chocolate and cookies.

"I don't really like cake," Jessa said while planning the wedding. "We wanted ice cream sundaes instead."

Seewald chose mint chocolate chip for his sundae. Duggar chose chocolate.

4. The newlyweds left their reception in a horse-drawn carriage as the crowd cheered and blew bubbles into the air.
