Barranquilla, Colombia-born beauty, Sofia Vergara is the richest actress on U.S. television, according to Forbes Magazine, earning $19 Million, beating out Law & Order's Mariska Hargity and The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco at $11 million; and Mike & Molly's Melissa McCarthy, 30 Rock's Tina Fey, Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo the Kardshians and talk show host Bethenny Frankel at $10 Million.

Modern Family, shown on ABC, averaged 12 million viewers per episode in its third season, and features Vergara as Gloria Pritchett, who is from Vergara's real life hometown of Barranquilla, and is the attractive younger wife of Jay Prichett, a grumpy but loving man. Her character also has a son named Manny, who is an outgoing teenager.

The Modern Family actress topped the highest paid list in 2012 and 2013, and even graced the cover of Forbes magazine in July of last year, where she was praised for business savvy nature.

But, the $19 million earned is only a chunk of the cash that she's drawn this past year, gaining income from several lucrative side ventures.  Vergara has a slew of endorsement deals with companies such as Burger King, Covergirl and Diet Pepsi; she produces a line of affordable clothing, accessories, and home goods for Kmart; and she owns a media marketing conglomerate, Latin World entertainment -which represents clients like Disney, Paramount and Gamble . Her net worth rose $30 Million in the last year, alone.

Though the stunning 41-year old Emmy-award winner has managed to not only cross-over from the Spanish-speaking/Hispanic market to the English-speaking/Mainstream market and dominate, it has been suggested that her success is an anomaly, and doesn't mean that there is a great deal of Latinos on the television, in fact the Screen Actors Guild indicates that only 6 percent of lead roles go to Latinos, compared to 74 percent going to white actors, and Latinos only win 7.4 percent of supporting roles.
