Toyota's luxury brand Lexus will recall over 400,000 models from 2006-2011 due to a possible fuel leak that could start a fire, U.S. regulators confirmed Friday.

CNBC reports the LS model from 2007-2010 is affected, as well as the Lexus GS from 2006-2011 and the IS model from 2006-2011.

In total, that is 422,509 cars that need to be recalled by Toyota.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that fuel could leak from one part of the fuel system to the fuel delivery system. If a spark were to occur, the NHTSA said a fire could start.

Toyota told the NHTSA that they do not know of any injuries or fires from the problem. Regardless, the automaker is required to tell owners of these models that their cars are faulty beginning next month. They will be told to bring their cars into dealerships to get the issue repaired. The repair will be done free of charge to Lexus owners.

Lexus has been aware of a possible issue with their fuel systems back in 2010, but did not find the problems they ended up finding this year, according to documents cited by Daily Finance. Lexus decided to proceed with the recalls in October after further looking into the issues.

The news comes as most dealerships are having their year-end sales and Black Friday promotions. The LS, IS and GS are very popular cars for Lexus.

The LS is the full-sized sedan that starts at about $72,000 for a new model.

The IS is a smaller sedan that starts at $36,500 for a new vehicle (2015).

The GS is the sportier version of the ES, which starts at $48,600 for a brand new model.
