Delevingne, who is in the midst of transitioning from the catwalk to the big screen, and in "Pan" she plays a glamorous mermaid with her long, flowing blonde locks and a shimmery purple fish tail.

The 22-year-old took to Instagram to share her excitement about her role.

"Mermazing! So exticed for you to see the Pan trailer! It's gonna be a wonderful movie," she told her fans.

Back in August, Delevingne also shared some behind-the-scenes video and pictures through her Vine and Instagram accounts. An insider source from The Sun on Sunday said: "It's a massive role for Cara to land considering she is a relatively unknown actress...However, she is perfect to play a mermaid as she has a body to die for and is very glamorous on screen. Cara is no stranger to being in next to nothing thanks to modelling so it's unlikely she'll feel self-conscious while shooting."

"It will be quite a demanding role as there will be a lot of underwater work and stunts," the source added. "Filming underwater could scare a lot of actresses but Cara is definitely up for the challenge."

Besides newcomers, stars like Hugh Jackman took on a pirate role, but instead of Captain Hook, he plays fierce Pirate Blackbeard. His physical transformation has many stunned about the 46-year-old actor.

Director Joe Wright of "Pride & Prejudice" and "Hanna" fame, lead the origin story of Peter Pan, which goes beyond J.M Barrie's original 1911 novel.

Young actor Levi Miller landed the titular role as a WWII orphan when Blackbeard's crew kidnap him from the Lambeth Home for Boys. They steal him away to Neverland on a magical flying ship.

Rooney Mara plays the Native American princess Tiger Lily and Amanda Seyfried holds the role of Mary, a mysterious woman who abandoned Peter, leaving a letter as the only clue to his past.

"My dearest peter, I long for the day that I can come back to you and explain everything. You are extraordinary, more than you can imagine. I promise that you will see me again in this world or another," she writes.

Pan will be released in U.S. and U.K. theaters on July 17.
