All of you muggles, witches and wizards can enjoy an early Christmas and holiday gift from the "Harry Potter" writer J.K. Rowling. The author of the internationally renowned book series will be releasing 12 short stories for the 12 days of Christmas.

The magical news was shared via email to users of Pottermore, Rowling's website dedicated to all things "Harry Potter." Rowling will be publishing 12 short stories–one story released each day during the 12 days of Christmas–from Dec. 12-24 at 8 a.m. ET. 

With the 12 stories, Rowling intends to share some moments from "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," a new gold Galleon, perhaps something from "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" and even a new potion, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Rowling said at least one of her stories will focus on Potter's nemesis and rival Draco Malfoy. For this year's Halloween, Rowling wrote 5,000 words for Pottermore about another evil character, Dolores Umbridge.

Also via Pottermore, Rowling published a short story in July 2014 as Rita Skeeter in the gossip column for "The Daily Prophet." Skeeter gave coverage of a Quidditch World Cup match, E! Online reported.

The story included more information on how Harry, Ron and Hermione had grown up into adults.

The seventh and final Harry Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," was published in 2007, and the last film, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2," was released in 2011. Rowling is not slowing down or shying away from writing about anything related to "the boy who lived."

And Rowling is also focusing her time to her writing outside of the world of Harry Potter. She has published "The Casual Vacancy," a best-selling novel, which is set to be turned into an HBO miniseries. And two other novels, "The Cuckoo's Calling" and "The Silkworm," which were both published under Rowling's pseudonym Robert Galbraith.
