"Destiny" was pretty much designed for add-on missions and expansion packs, since it's a huge world that players are constantly finding the edges of in their adventures.

"The Dark Below," the first major expansion pack for "Destiny," had its release date this week. Is it worth the cost?

Of course, "Destiny" is both a hit and a constant problem for its avid fanbase, who complain about the cost of expansion packs, passes, and bugs that have come up in the game.

The same goes with "The Dark Below," released on Tuesday, which costs $20 if you didn't purchase the $35 Expansion Pass previously according to Time.

Mixed Reviews

The Guardian's reviewer, for example, had mixed feelings about "The Dark Below," since it only includes three new story missions, two new multiplayer arenas, and two new coop features.

But on the other hand, the Guardian found that, while "The Dark Below" had "sparse new content," it "takes a surprisingly long time to get through" those missions.

That's because there are quest bounties that require completing before you get to the flagship new strike. Another bonus is that, according to Time's review, you can level up beyond the official cap of 20 -- all the way up to Light Level 32.

Also, there's the new EV-30 Tumbler Sparrow, a 100 durability hovercraft with a Legendary rating that allows for some pretty fun looking trick riding with your friends.

Countdown Timer Freeze Bug Reported by PlayStation Users

It's not all fun and games, though. According to GameSpot, some PS4 users are being locked out of the base game by the countdown timer screen. It seems to only affect digital downloaded versions of the PlayStation version of "Destiny," and not Xbox users at all.

Some Reddit users seemed to have found a way around the problem, but it requires deleting and re-downloading the game file, and it's not certain it'll work for everyone.

But cheer up, frustrated PS4 users, according to GameSpot, you'll be getting some exclusive content (along with PS3 players) that Xbox One or Xbox 360 users won't.
