On Wednesday, cable channel MTV announced that comedian Amy Schumer would be the next host for the MTV Movie Awards.

Schumer, known for her raunchy humor, had funny words to add to the announcement.

"I am honored to be hosting the awards," Schumer said in a statement released by MTV. "I will carry the audience with me like a teen mom #breaktheinternet #breakmywater."

Schumer  is the creator, writer, executive producer and star of Comedy Central's "Inside Amy Schumer." The show is scheduled to return for a third season around the same time as the award show next April.

The female comedian is also set to appear in the film "Trainwreck," a Universal Pictures comedy project she wrote and developed alongside director Judd Apatow. The movie currently has a July 2015 release date. Schumer will star with Bill Hader, Colin Quinn, Brie Larson, Vanessa Bayer, Tilda Swinton, John Cena and LeBron James.

Wednesday evening, MTV handed Schumer the reigns to its social media channels, giving her temporary control of its Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Vine, Tumblr and Snapchat accounts. This is the first time in history that MTV has provided this kind of power to any one person.

"Wickedly funny and sharply insightful, Amy Schumer is perhaps the most ascendant talent in comedy today, and she's on the brink of an epic year," MTV president Stephen Friedman said. "We are thrilled to work with Amy to create an unpredictable and hilarious showcase for Hollywood's biggest blockbusters and brightest stars in what promises to be the most combustible Movie Awards ever."

While nominations for the 2015 MTV Movie Awards will be announced at a later date, the award show has already promised to feature several exclusive looks at upcoming 2015 summer films.

The Viacom-owned channel will show the 24th annual MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles live.
