British actress Keira Knightley is pregnant with her first child.

The news was confirmed to Elle UK Friday morning that the 29-year-old star and her musician husband James Righton are expecting a baby together.

The spokesperson on Knightley's behalf added no further details on the pregnancy at this time.

Knightly attended a high-profile red carpet appearance Sunday evening at the Moet British Independent Film Awards. There, she showed no visible signs of a baby bump in her Rocha dress with embroidered ivory fur trim. However, she is said to have "steered clear from any champagne or alcohol" throughout the night, according to the Daily Mail.

She presented the Variety Award along with Mark Strong to her "The Imitation Game" co-star Benedict Cumberbatch.

The year has been a whirlwind of success for the actress, who was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild and Golden Globe award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her work in "The Imitation Game." In recent weeks, she has been busy promoting the film around the world, but never hinted at being with child.

Knightley has been with 31-year-old Righton since they started dating in February 2011, and has not been shy about her desire to start a family. However, in interviews, she always insisted she would never give up a career to have kids.

"I don't want to deny my femininity," she said in 2012 to Vogue magazine. "But would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No. On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at."

She and the Klaxons star married in a small ceremony in the South of France in May 2013, with reportedly only 11 guests in attendance.

"It was the greatest day ever, it was fantastic," Righton said of their wedding day back in 2013. "We're still high from it. It was about two weeks ago, it was a big party ... I just fell in love with someone who happens to be amazing. We had a beautiful wedding and there was a lot of love."
