Most women would not leave the house with hair curlers, but 29-year-old Bruno Mars sang "Uptown Funk" wearing gold curlers to represent the retro '70s vibe of the hit's music video, reports People magazine.

In the music video, Mars and his entourage visit a barber shop to have their hair set.

Mars and Mark Ronson gave the audience a stellar, grooving performance with the same unreal energy seen at every live Bruno Mars showing.

The two-time Academy Award winner would make a great mentor on "The Voice" because of his immense talent and he knows a thing or two about struggling as a singer. Mars had an unsuccessful run with Motown Records, which anyone else may have considered the end of a fledgling career. He persevered and signed with Atlantic in 2009. He lent his vocals to the songs "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy and "Nothin' on You" by B.o.B which achieved worldwide success. He was finally recognized as a solo artist.

Born as Peter Gene Hernandez, Mars is known for his retro showmanship. He and his band, The Hooligans, play a variety of instruments, sing, dance and perform a wide range of musical styles from R&B and reggae to funk music.

His talent, along with the gold hair curlers that set Twitter buzzing, nearly stole the show except that the audience could hardly wait for the announcement of "The Voice" finalists.

Damien was announced 4th, Chris Jamison was announced 3rd, and no one was sure who would be called next between Craig Wayne Boyd and Matt McAndrew. Boyd's name was called and McAndrew gave him a big hug before his wife and son joined him onstage for an encore performance of his original, "My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face."

Best of all, the finalists each had an original song charted in the iTunes Top 10 by this afternoon, and every single song performed on "The Voice" finale was in the Top 50, reports Entertainment Weekly.
