"Sherlock" fans, go ahead: You have permission to freak out.

Between rumors of "Sherlock" being made into a Broadway play and whispers circulating about a theme park resort that's inspired by "Doctor Who," "Top Gear" and, of course, "Sherlock," there is much to be thankful for this holiday season.

The London Paramount Entertainment Resort is set to be erected in North Kent with a proposed open date of Easter 2020. Fans of the sleuth who resides at 221B Baker Street will have an opportunity to be entertained and educated about British culture.

Stephen Davies, director of live events at BBC Worldwide, said in a statement, "We're always looking for opportunities to extend fans' enjoyment of their favorite shows, and the idea behind this resort is a really exciting way of celebrating the very special place the BBC has in British culture."

Benedict Cumberbatch, the face of BBC's "Sherlock," has been in the news quite a bit recently, also, due mainly to his engagement to his longtime girlfriend and for winning the title role in the upcoming film "Dr. Strange." The actor, who has been in blockbuster after blockbuster, has mastered the art of the duality of being a Hollywood movie star and an international film star.

Cumberbatch's zealous scheduling has been blamed for the January 2016 premiere of the fourth season of the series. But what's even worse? The rumor mill has suggested that the fourth season of the series may be pushed to 2017 because of Cumberbatch's busy schedule, but this has not been confirmed by BBC, the producers nor Cumberbatch, who's being sought after by author Neil Gaiman to take the lead in "Sandman."

In other news, Emmy-winning actor Cumberbatch made mention that Sherlock might prefer men to women during a Nerdist podcast when stating the similarities and differences between Sherlock and Doctor Who.

"One uses a sonic screwdriver and time and the other uses his brain and isn't 900 years old and isn't reincarnated. Sherlock talks fast and is clever. That's literally the only bracket they share. They've got different dress senses, different tastes in the sex of their partners."

No matter the character's sexual orientation, Cumberbatch has stated that he's in it for the long haul and has no plans to quit playing the onscreen, telling Vogue Magazine,  "If we can keep the quality up. I can't imagine that I will ever get tired of being Sherlock. I'd love to be him as an old man."

"Sherlock" will air its one-hour Christmas episode one year from now in 2015. And the fourth season is expected to air January of 2016. Tom Hiddleston, star of "Thor," may be cast to portray Sherlock's older brother, Sherrinford, though the actor is actually younger than Cumberbatch.
