During an interview with Power 105 on Wednesday, famous rapper Nicki Minaj broke down about the split between her and ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels, who she dated for 12 years, Hip Hollywood reported.

Minaj spoke to Power's Angie Martinez about her failed relationship with rapper Samuels.

"I've never been single for the last 15 years of my life," she said to The Breakfast Club 2015. "There is still nothing but love there."

The star opened up about how hard it is getting over the relationship.

"This is somebody I grew up with. I don't even know how I'm going to function without that person in my life. I never lived my life as a famous person without him," she said.

And based on her comments, it seems Minaj is going to have to make a few adjustments in her life.

"I don't even know how to really function. I tell my girlfriends, my best friends, sometimes I still want to tell him stuff and get his opinion," she said.

Minaj said that relationships are not as sacred anymore.

"In this amount of time people have three kids and are married," she said, referring to why the break up was so hard for her.

"I'm not going to act like he did not mean the world to me," she said, adding she is happier now.

It's still not exactly clear why Samuels and Minaj split, but the two might have just grown apart.

In Touch Weekly reported Safaree is taking the breakup badly. Supposedly, he's not happy about rumors that Minaj is dating rapper Meek Mill a month after their breakup.

Although Minaj denies all rumors, she was spotted having dinner with Meek Mill.

Reports say Safaree confided in a few friends and let them know he was having suicidal thoughts. They say he barely goes outside and smokes marijuana all day long and would not contact his ex because the rumors are "torturing" him.
