Bill Nye "The Science Guy" became popular enough in the 90s to be a household name for years to come, but we hadn't heard from him too much until recently.

But after re-emerging on the show "Dancing With The Stars," Nye has been catapulted back into the public eye and he's looking to capitalize. The scientist launched a YouTube series last week called "Why With Nye," an 8-part series about NASA's "Juno" mission in space.

"Why With Nye features legendary educator and entertainer Bill Nye demystifying the cutting edge science behind NASA's groundbreaking Juno mission to Jupiter," the YouTube page says. "Watch Nye bring the Juno mission to life with his signature blend of props, performance, and solid scientific know how.

So far three of the short clips, which are just a few minutes long, have been posted. Nye, who is a graduate of Cornell University, asks questions such as whether Jupiter has a core. His shows on YouTube are reminiscent of his funny but educational PBS shows geared towards children.

The 57-year-old Nye was on "Dancing With The Stars" for two weeks before leaving the show with a torn ligament in his leg. Nye was a fan favorite on the show and even brought "Bill, Bill, Bill" chants from the crowd surrounding him during the performances. On at least one occasion, Nye, who was partnered up with Tyne Stecklein, tripped and fell but still scored well considering that.

Also featured on the season of "Dancing With The Stars" were Jack Osbourne and Keyshawn Johnson.
