To win "Va Por Ti," Yazaira Lopez had to defeat many worthy opponents, but now she's facing a new set of challenges.

Lopez has been working on her album, and "Despierta America" caught up with her and second-place winner Fernando Corona as they took pictures for their debut albums. The two were awarded music contracts through Warner Music.

Lopez spoke to the morning TV show to explain how life has changed following her win of the music reality show.

"It was worth it, all the sacrifices, so much suffering and so many difficult moments," she said. "It's very exciting. I'm still dreaming while awake, you know."

Lopez was in the same recording studio that many other Latino singers have been in, and she couldn't help but reflect on the fact that she is now doing what she has dreamt of doing.

"I never thought I'd accomplish being in such a big, prestigious studio," she said. "I looked up to many artists... Now, I am in the place that they once were. It makes me excited and makes me feel proud of what I am, what I did and what I gave to accomplish this."

Working on an album has taken her away from her husband and her family, but Lopez isn't too upset. She said that her family will always be there, and that she's now where she feels she belongs.

Lopez's win on "Va Por Ti" was revealed before the finale.

Lopez's husband, Carlos Quiñones, confirmed that his wife was named the winner after people attended the taping of the last episode, notes Primera Hora.

Quiñones explained that he would have liked to not have said anything, but that people took to social media to spread the news. At that point, Quiñones felt he had no choice but to admit it was the truth.
