Kat Von D, tattoo artist, model, musician, author, television personality and alleged man-eater, is Latina's November cover girl.

The Nuevo Leon, Mexico-born tattoo artist of German, Italian, and Spanish decent, born Katherine von Drachenberg, spoke with Latina about her Southern California upbringing, her upcoming rock album, her failed relationships and her parents.

The LA Ink star talked about her mother, Sylvia, who constantly had a make-up adorned face and flowing raven black hair. Von considered her a "beauty queen," and stated that her mother was a beautiful Latin woman who managed three children, watched telenovelas and tended to their home. Her father, Rene, a missionary like her mother, was someone she had an difficult relationship with. She stated that when she wanted to reconcile with him, she used music to do so, teaching him to play Guns N' Roses or the Misfits on his accordion while she played or sang along. She also stated that she wasn't sure that she needed anyone aside from her father and friends to share everything with, but that the idea sounded nice.

"I'm not angry at [ex-fiancé] Joel [Zimmerman]. I'm not angry at [ex-fiancé] Jesse [James], I'm not angry at Nikki [Sixx]. I'm just angry at myself for wasting my time, because I could have finished my record," Von D said to Latina, indicating that her rocky romances with her former flames delayed her musical aspirations.

Also, about her relationships, she stated, "I get a bad rep for being constantly in and out of relationships, when in reality if you look at my timeline it's not really the case. I'm very good at being aware of my weaknesses, [but] what I'm not good at oftentimes tends to land in the romance department."

Von D's famous romances have garnered a great deal of attention in the media, often because of the on-again-off-again nature of the romances. Mötley Crüe's bassist, Nikki Sixx, who she dated intermittently between 2008 and 2010, issued a statement on October 19, 2010 saying that they had reconciled after a trail separation, while at the same time it was reported that Von D was dating West Coast Chopper's Jesse James -- who had recently divorced Sandra Bullock. Throughout 2011, Von D and James repeatedly broke up and reunited until Von D accused him of being repeatedly unfaithful. She, then, began dating Joel Zimmerman, professionally known as Deadmau5, in Sept. 2012. They broke up in Nov. 2012, and then Zimmerman proposed to Von D over Twitter, which she accepted. The two ended their engagement in June 2013 due to Zimmerman's infidelity.

Von D, in the same interview, also discussed her make-up line with Sephora, launched in 2008, and how much she values the experience, because as an authentic and sincere company they allow her to develop products that allows her be her, and allows her to experiment with her collections.

For her future, she wants to finish her long awaited album, make furniture, write another book, make Victorian lampshades and spend more time doing entomology.
