If you are not one to celebrate Christmas or just need to do some shopping or errands, you are in luck. Some businesses are open so you can go about your business.

Let's take a look at what is open and what is closed on Christmas Day.

Gas Stations:

Almost all gas stations, especially the big ones like Mobil, Chevron, 7-Eleven and Shell are open. Small stations could be closed, so make sure to call before venturing out.

Most gas stations these days offer pay at the pump if their is cashier present.

Grocery Stores:

Most grocery stores are closed. Check your favorite grocer's website or call them before driving there. Albertson's is open though.

Walmart? Target? No luck here. Both of these big box retailers are closed all day Christmas. 

Electronic Stores:

Best Buy and Radio Shack are closed. If you need to pick up a pair of headphones or a cord, you will have to go somewhere else.

Drug Stores:

Walgreen's and Duane Reade stores are open.

CVS: Most CVS stores have regular hours or are open until 8 p.m.. The 24 hour locations should be still 24 hours. Make sure to call ahead if you head out at night.

Banks:

All major banks are closed. Some small banks or credit unions may be open. You can access your money by using ATMs or debit cards.

Restaurants:

Depending on the type of cuisine, you may be in luck here. Some restaurants stay open to entice diners because they know their competitors are lucky closed. Check your favorite restaurant's website or call first though. McDonald's and Denny's are both open. Hours will vary by location.

Coffee:

Need a quick jolt of caffeine? Starbuck's locations across the nation are likely open. Check with your favorite.
