Judd Apatow, writer, producer and director of movie hits such as "Knocked Up" and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," is speaking out against Bill Cosby.

In light of Cosby's recent sexual assault allegations, Apatow is calling for the beloved comedian's planned events at theaters in Canada to be canceled.

Apatow took to Twitter to show his support for the women who have alleged that Cosby raped and drugged them. It was a back-and-forth debate that Apatow had with Twitter users, and he even tweeted to the theaters who were having Cosby perform in January.

Cosby, 77, is scheduled to appear at two Canadian theaters, and Apatow is not happy about it. Apatow tweeted the names of the theaters that are scheduled to have Cosby, asking why they are welcoming him.

"so @Centre_Square - are you really going to let Bill Cosby perform on your stage January 7?" Apatow said in one tweet.

"You too @BudGardens Jan 8? Is Cosby only popular in Ontario Canada at this point? Do people still find him delightful after 30 accusers?" Apatow further tweeted.

Apatow's rant on Twitter against Cosby started a cascade of online debate between Apatow and other users. One Twitter user named "woofmachine" asked Apatow if it was fair to judge Cosby so quickly, while pointing out that most people are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, The Wrap reported.

Apatow replied: "[Cosby] should speak publicly about how false this all is. 30 alibis"

In recent months, dozens of women, including models Janice Dickinson and Beverly Johnson, have come forward alleging that Cosby was sexually inappropriate with them, according to E! Online. Cosby's lawyer, Marty Singer, has not addressed every single case, but he has shot down some previous sexual assault claims.

Singer has said via a statement that "We've reached a point of absurdity. The stories are getting more ridiculous," E! Online reported.

One Twitter user, @mikeandrewb, wanted to know why Apatow was so "obsessed" with talking about Cosby, The Wrap reported.

"I guess it's because guys who rape a lot aren't cool," Appatow said in response.

In a separated tweet, Apatow wondered "why some people try so hard not to believe women who have been assaulted. What is the root of that?"

Since Cosby's sexual allegations, some have ended their relationship with the comedian. According to The Wrap, Cosby had Netflix special was pulled, TVLand has stopped airing re-runs of "The Cosby Show" and other scheduled performances have been either postponed or cancelled.
