Univision's "Hoy" joined Ximena Navarrete on one of her latest photo shoots.

The Mexican beauty queen was on a rooftop shoot, where she managed to look like a natural. But Navarrete explains it hasn't always been this way.

"I see a photo of when I was just barely starting out, and I see a photo now, and yes, it looks very different," she said. "There's a lot of... advancement in this career."

Navarrete also said smiling is the best beauty advice she can give anyone.

"When you see a photo of someone who is smiling, and they are doing it sincerely, because you can tell when it is faked," she said.

Navarrete added she doesn't think of herself as Miss Universe because she no longer holds the title.

The actress also talked about valuing honesty in people. She said it's something many people are missing.

"We are living in a world where appearances are the most important thing," she said. "And people trick you or they tell you what you want to hear. And it's not easy, finding people who are worth it."

Navarrete said, for her, it is easy to tell if someone is lying or not.

Another thing that disappoints the 26-year-old star is people can't seem to be happy for others' success.

"I think it's nice when you can see someone who is succeeding and things are going well for them," she said. "And that should motivate other people to also do things well. It's ugly when people because of envy, jealousy start doing bad things to you."

For December, Navarrete and friend Belinda posed together for Marie Claire Latin America.

The two women shared images on their social media pages, where they talked about "girl power."
