From her Myx Fusions Moscato to Viva Glam MAC cosmetic line, the YMCMB rapper Nicki Minaj has built a brand empire, sitting comfortably at the #4 spot on Forbes' Hip-Hop Cash Kings list. Once again, she takes on another new business -- she unveils her own clothing line, debuting at Kmart.

People usually become skeptical when the musicians branch out to different fields or anything other than music. However, at a launch event on Tuesday for her Kmart collection, Minaj expresses that skepticism of stars lacking formal design training is "understandable" but she insists that it's "not about being a designer."

The rapper says that her intention is simply to make clothes that she would love to wear, and share her style with consumers. "I wanted to do something that would take Kmart to another level and make girls like me think that we could shop here."

Nicki Minaj is known for her outrageous and striking style. She always manages to make a hard-to-miss fashion statement with her signature hip-hop Barbie look that features colorful hues, eye-catching prints and skintight curve-hugging fit. "Fashionable and sexy. That's what my line is," the "Starships" singer says about her new fashion line. Minaj also mentions that her fashion inspirations are Juicy Couture, Chanel, Versace and Herve Leger.

The line for Kmart and shopyourway.com features midriff-baring crop tops, patterned leggings, figure-flaunting dresses, bandage dresses, club-ready bold mini dresses, color block skirts, tracksuit with crystal embellishments, velour tracksuit and washed denims, all designed by Minaj herself. Accessories include a faux fur trapper hat, studded platform heels, jewelry, clutches, bejeweled caps and more.

Now Nicki Minaj, as a fashion designer, brings her wardrobe to the fashion world. Her collection retails from $3.99 for a studded bracelet to $37.99 for a denim jacket.
