Grand Theft Auto 5 continues to break sales records and posting impressive numbers, but there's still one thing the game has failed to do: release the GTA V companion app for Android.

Game publishers, Rockstar Games, has announced upon release of one of this year's most anticipated video games that two special mobile applications for the game will also be launched. The apps - Grand Theft Auto: iFruit and GTA Manual - were created to be a gamers companion to "enhance and aid" them as they play through the video game.

So far, Rockstar Games has already released GTA iFruit and Manual for the iOS device, but has failed to make the iFruit available to Android users (the Manual is already available to both OS). This has sparked outcries from non-Apple users. Product-Reviews.net reports that some have already been banned from gaming forum, Social Club, after relentlessly complaining about the release of the Android version of the app.

"I'm trading my game in as Rockstar is on Apple's payroll," one user commented reports the site.

While take their frustrations to online forums, some have been pushed to create online petitions for the game publishers to release the app on Android.

One of the petitions posted on iPetitions.com asks Rockstar Games to "provide the application immediately or set a date for the launch."

The request writes:

Android users are being left out. We bought a game that asks you to download an application, which so far is restricted to one operating system. As the mass of users uses the Android operating system, who are demanding the creation of application for this system and a deadline by which it is available...This petition is a call to Rockstar, that respects all users and customers who have signed this petition and who bought their products.

So far, the petition has more than 3,500 signatures, with a goal to reach 5,000 signs. SO far, Rockstar has still yet to confirm a release date for the game.
