VH1 scored high ratings with TLC's motion picture CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story which premiered Monday night, reports Entertainment Weekly. The biopic stars KeKe Palmer as Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, Lil Mama as the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Drew Sidora as Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins.

CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story pulled in a whopping 4.5 million viewers, scoring the highest rating for a cable movie this year so far; and the highest rating for an original VH1 production. The movie also took social media by storm. Social Guide disclosed that the movie generated 1.92 million tweets (hashtagged #CrazySexyCool), according to Entertainment Weekly.

The movie has garnered positive reviews as well. Idolator noted that, "VH1's CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story is a total home run, allowing every TLC fan - from casual listener to zealot - to reminisce over one of the most successful female groups of all time. The downside, though, lies in contriving a happy ending to a story that isn't even finished yet. The casting of CrazySexyCool is semi-spot on. Drew Sidora rocks a mean T-Boz, Lil Mama nails her role as Left Eye, and Keke Palmer transforms into a capable Chilli."

Hollywood Life, meanwhile, praised the movie for its authenticity, declaring the motion picture a big success.

"This wasn't simply a straight-faced walk through the trials and tribulations of TLC. CrazySexyCool also highlighted all that was beautiful and unforgettable about the group - from the '90s-tastic fashion to the girl-power attitude to the music videos you couldn't help but look on YouTube during the commercial breaks," the site wrote.

Slate, on the other hand, acknowledged that the movie, "is a not a particularly well-constructed biopic, hopping from moment to moment like moviemaking was just a matter of checking scenes off a list, but it does everything that Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, the two surviving members of TLC, could ask for: It will absolutely convince you that TLC was amazing...the movie nails TLC's particular infectious, rambunctious spirit, their defining characteristic since they burst onto the scene in the early '90s, wearing then-stylish clown clothes."

CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story chronicles the journey to fame and loss of the all-female R&B group TLC, which popularity hit an all-time high in the 1990s well into 2000. The group's popular hits include "Waterfalls," "No Scrubs" and "Creep." The group has an upcoming single recorded with Ne-Yo called "Meant to Be," one of the most hotly anticipated tracks in 2013.

In an interview about the film, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas  said, "We had a great run. To be here two decades later and have another chance to do even more, I feel like the sky is the limit," according to CNN.

The two remaining members of the girl group described the film as "our baby" and expressed that they are looking forward to a new chapter in their inspiring career.
