The Cuban beauty Eva Mendes, who has always been vocal about her disinterest in kids and marriage, may have reached the end of her long romance with Ryan Gosling due that fact that she isn't the marrying type.

Mendes, 39, was once quoted, saying, "I don't wanna have kids ... I love the little suckers; they're so cute. But I love sleep so much, and I worry about everything," adding, "I feel like the institution of marriage is a very archaic kinda thing. I don't think it fits in my world today." And she reiterated the statement to Chelsea Handler on her talk show, prior to her relationship with Gosling, saying, "We did it for land originally...how unromantic is that?"

"Ryan's friends know he is ready to settle down, 100 percent," a source told Hollywood Scoop, suggesting that Gosling is all in but Mendes is struggling with exclusivity. "Eva loves Ryan, but she's very nontraditional when it comes to what she wants. She's phobic about commitment. That's the root of the problem."

Though, competing reports suggest that it's Gosling who's stalling the trip down the aisle. Beauty World News reported that the relationship may end because Mendes is ready for children and marriage, while Gosling is "dragging his feet," unable to focus on anything outside of his career.

"Until now she hasn't pressured him, but she's just a few months shy of 40 and told Ryan that if he doesn't want to start a family with her, she wants to find a man who's ready and willing," a Showbiz insider said.

The Times of India declares that isn't resistance that's keeping either party from walking down the aisle, but rather Mendes' alleged affair her former partner of eight years (2001-2010), the Peruvian filmmaker George Augusto.
