After more than a day and a half in custody, Chris Brown was finally released from jail on Monday after facing a judge on a charge that he allegedly punched a man who tried to pose in a photograph with him.

The R&B singer denied that he punched anyone or had been involved in a confrontation. He said that someone had tried to get on his bus so his bodyguard handled the situation. Hollosy, Brown's bodyguard, who was also arrested, told police he punched Isaac Parker Adams in the face after the victim tried to follow the singer onto the bus.

Danny Onorato, Chris Brown's lawyer, defended that his client did not commit any crime.

"We understand that his security acted to protect Mr. Brown and Mr. Brown's property as he was authorized to do under District of Columbia law. We are confident that Mr. Brown will be exonerated of any wrongdoing," said Onorato.

As a result of the incident, the prosecutor luckily reduced a felony assault charge to a misdemeanor. Bill Miller, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office said the reduced charges were based on the current assessment of the evidence gathered to date.

Abraham Luakabuanga, who runs a small limousine company, said he witnessed two women and a man approach Brown after he left the hotel and take photos of the singer, which ended in a physical confrontation involving Brown and Hollosy.

Chris Brown is due back in court on November 25. He also remains of probation for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009.
