United States soccer team goalkeeper Hope Solo could miss the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada after she was suspended by the U.S. Soccer Federation last week.

Solo was handed a 30-day suspension after her husband, Jerramy Stevens, was arrested on drunk driving in California. The star goalkeeper was with Stevens during the incident, and reports also indicated that Solo's husband was driving a national soccer team van that time.

U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati admitted that Solo might be left out of their 2015 World Cup roster, but he is still hoping their top goalkeeper will be with the team when they compete in Canada in June.

"We've asked her to do a number of things and she's going to have to do some of those things and make progress in those areas," Gulati said via USA Today. "We hope [missing the World Cup] is not the case. We hope she's making progress and joins the team. That's certainly the goal. Hers and ours."

Gulati and national team coach Jill Ellis declined to reveal the things Solo needs to accomplish while serving her 30-day suspension from the team, but both officials reiterated that the tasks set by the federation are "achievable" within the month-long ban.

"Thirty days seemed to be the appropriate suspension under our rules and given the circumstances." Gulati said via Yahoo Sports. "So there are a number of things that Hope is being asked to do in that 30 days. We're not going to get into the specifics of that. And then we'll evaluate where things stand at the end of that period."

Ellis admitted that losing Solo in their scheduled training camps is a huge blow to their preparation for the World Cup, but they had no other choice but to suspend Solo, who has been involved in numerous incidents before, and almost all of it involved use of alcohol. She declined to confirm that Solo was required to enter alcohol rehab facility.

Solo, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, will miss the team's overseas games against France on Feb. 8 and England on Feb. 18. Without their top goalkeeper, Ellis said that Nicole Barnhart, Ashlyn Harris and Alyssa Naeher will compete for playing time in their upcoming training friendlies.
