Just four days away from Sunday’s Super Bowl XLIX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, the song set to be performed by Katy Perry during the halftime show was leaked online -- or so the public initially thought. But, was it really a leak?

In fact, the song featured above is not really the piece Perry, 30, was going to sing during the football game’s halftime show. The song appeared on Tim Heidecker’s YouTube channel. He is part of the comedic duo “Tim and Eric.” The video’s description said:

********IMPORTANT!**************
LEAKED MATERIAL DO NOT SHARE - SONG TO DEBUT DURING SUPERBOWL 2015 - RESTRICTED
obtained by Tim Heidecker with JP. HASSON
special assistance from Claire Cetera

The stunt has even reached Perry who took it very well and posted the video on her Twitter account.

According to Billboard, this is not the first time Heidecker has “leaked” a song ahead of the Super Bowl. In 2012 he also released a song he attributed to Madonna but it was obvious it was joke. It opened with: "My name is Madonna and I'm here to say / I like football in a very big way."

Similarly, this song also has mock lyrics poking fun at the bizarre relationship between the music industry and the NFL.

"I like to have so much fun/ I like to run/ I like to watch the football game/ It makes me totally insane,” the singer posing as Perry sings. The song features Lenny Kravitz, who will appear with Kerry on Sunday during the halftime show.

"I'm Lenny Kravitz, brought to you by T-Mobile,” the Lenny Kravitz imposter says in the song.

HollywoodLife.com reports some Katy Perry fans did not take the joke well. However, others brushed it off like their idol. Perry herself also continued playing along and uploaded a photo on Instagram of her newly painted toenails for the show.
