Show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Wednesday that international recording artist, songwriter and actress Rita Ora will perform "Grateful" from "Beyond the Lights," one of the five compositions up for this year's Best Original Song Award at the 87th Academy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 22.

"The mixture of her incredible voice and glamour makes a perfect combination for our show," said producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

Shortly thereafter, the 24-year-old said she was "excited to announce" that she would be taking part in the ceremony to her 4.23 million followers on Twitter.

"Grateful," the R&B ballad written by Diane Warren, marks the songwriter's seventh Oscar nomination in this category and the first in 13 years. Previous songs "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" performed by Starship, "Because You Loved Me" performed by Celine Dion, "How Do I Live" performed by LeAnn Rimes, "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith, "Music of My Heart" performed by Gloria Estefan and 'N Sync and "There You'll Be" by Faith Hill.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, news of Ora's involvement in the ceremony follows Monday's announcement that Adam Levine, frontman of Maroon 5, alongside actress Keira Knightley will perform the nominated song "Lost Stars" from "Begin Again," and Tuesday's announcement that soul crooner John Legend and alt-rapper Common will perform their Golden Globe winning track "Glory" from "Selma" on the Oscar stage. The two other songs nominated in the category are "Everything Is Awesome" from "The Lego Movie" and "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" from "Glen Campbell... I'll Be Me."

Ora, a fledging pop star and a coach on "The Voice," will appear on the Oscars shortly after she makes her onscreen debut in the much-anticipated BDSM-themed erotic/romantic drama, "Fifty Shades of Grey." Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson ("Nowhere Boy"), Ora will portray the adopted sister of Jamie Dornan's character Christian Grey, the BBC reports. That's not all, either; Ora will also star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams and Naomie Harris in the boxing drama "Southpaw," to be released in July 31 by The Weinstein Company.

Ora's second full-length album is expected to be released sometime this spring and will feature production from Diplo and DJ Mustard, as well as a collaboration with Prince. The dance-pop ditty "I Will Never Let You Down," from her upcoming album, went on to become her fourth overall single to top the charts in the U.K., and her feature on the smash single "Black Widow," with fellow pop starlet Iggy Azalea, reached No. 3 in the U.S. In 2012, she dominated the U.K. charts with her debut, the certified platinum album "Ora," which included the number one singles "R.I.P.," "How We Do (Party)" and "Hot Right Now."

The 87th Oscars will be held on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be televised live on the ABC Television Network at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.

The Oscars, produced by Zadan and Meron, also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide. Tony and Emmy-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris, who has previously hosted both of those award ceremonies, is scheduled to host the ceremony for the first time.
