After topping the charts with hits like "Birthday Song" and "No Lie," 2 Chainz has announced that he now aspires to run for political office.

The 37-year-old rapper, who was born Tauheed Epps, has been outspoken on felon voting rights and the legalization of marijuana (mostly notably during a debate with HLN TV host Nancy Grace.) Now, the 6-foot-5 rap star is seriously contemplating placing a bid for mayor in his hometown, College Park, Georgia. The only problem is that he apparently does not live in the Atlanta suburb, which could disqualify him from entering the race.

The "I Luv Dem Strippers" rapper announced his interest in a mayoral run during a recent interview with the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

"I am looking forward to running at the end of this year or next year. [I'm] waiting to see if I meet all of the qualifications," said the Grammy-nominated artist.

Epps also mentioned his ambitions to step into the political arena earlier this week during an interview with XXL Magazine.

"I'm supposed to be running for mayor in College Park. I got everybody wishing," said Epps, who attended Alabama State University on a basketball scholarship. "I'm really gonna do this little mayor thing in College Park. I'm just trying to make sure I have the right qualifications."

However, College Park Mayor Jack Longino said he isn't worried about losing his office to the "I'm Different" rapper.

"I truly and sincerely do not believe that he lives in College Park," he told the Daily Beast.

Longino added that if Epps "actually lives in College Park and wants to run and signs up, we'll let the people decide."

"I will continue to stand on my record and what I've accomplished in College Park," said the 20-year incumbent.
